Global warming is a serious issue in today’s world. Governments from all over the world are very much concerned about this phenomenon. The short wave radiations which reach the earth’s surface by penetrating the atmosphere gets absorbed and some of them gets reflected as infrared radiations and try to escape the earth’s surface through the atmosphere. However, certain gases in the atmosphere, called the greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide, methane, water vapor, etc., when present in excessive quantities prevents the IR radiations from escaping the earth’s surface thereby resulting in the increase in the earth’s temperature, resulting in global warming.
